we're going to have a video. >> my name is shirley cavara and work for oakland school district and early education and people come from san joaquin valley and my family is located in the area. the best thing about working here is meeting all the families, and connecting with the kids, and when it finally clicks to them "oh that's what that means". even if it's small steps with some kids it's a great feeling that you have made an accomplishment in their lives that they will remember, so here it started down at ice age and moved to second avenue because it got too big want there was a preschool there and out grew that area and we had three choice in oakland to have the child care center at and the parents chose this one and up in the hills and don't feel like you're in oakland and conducive to our setting and lifestyle as indian people, and a lot of our kids that graduated here are doing community work. they're out there working with their people so we have made a strong impact with kids and you don't think about it. you just do what you do and what comes natural in working with kids

look at this picture a viewer sent in. it's a car trapped on shepard canyon road in oakland. car is up to its roof in water. pictures of the storm send it was a five hour long ordeal on the richmond-san rafael bridge earlier today when high winds knocked over a big rig! high winds flipped over the empty tractor trailer early this morning blocking two left lanes. truck driver ignored the high wind warnng and was traveling abovet he speed limit when he flipped over. it took about five hours to flip the truck right side up because crews has to wait for winds to die down. in pittsburg, there was a major backup on westbound higway-4 near loveridge road earlier today. these are aerials from sky-7 hd, abc 7 news. a sig alert was issued. in a small section of the highway -- only two lanes were open as cars crawled through the area. a large pothole was to blame for the traffic mess... the pothole left dozens of rain. one driver says 25 cars blew out their tires after running into the large pothole. drivers say the rain made it difficult for them to see the pothole in the middle of the highwa

oakland in and around this area, lafayette there, this home damage, a number of them, you get near the hillside, that brings down debris and boulders and mud, and that does damage not only to homes but on the other side of roadways, we've got damage from a number of primary and secondary roads in and around this bay area. a tremendous amount of rainfall that has just undermined those structures. so you've got issues with that, as well. of course people driving through these flooded streets. you've got a need for rescues. the fire departments and their swift water rescue teams were out in full force over the weekend rescuing people. this is in cuss cadder ra and a number of other people had to be rescued. napa valley tremendous rainfall there. napa river up and over its floodbanks. the sacramento river also in flood stage. in some cases, almost a foot and a half of rainfall in this five-day period. raining right now in seattle to portland. not raining right now in sacramento and san francisco. but that will likely change as we get through tomorrow, at least tonight into tomorrow. yester
